Più di un secolo fa, in un piccolo villaggio sul monte Lure in Francia, la famiglia Vogade trascorreva le sue giornate vivendo tra alcune delle piante aromatiche più fresche dell'Alta Provenza. Salvia, lavanda e timo riempivano l'aria lussureggiante di montagna con i loro profumi inebrianti tutto l'anno.
Per guadagnarsi da vivere, i Vogades iniziarono a bruciare gli abbondanti raccolti di queste piante nella vicina distilleria Mouranchon. Il risultato finale si rivelò inestimabile: ogni anno venivano prodotti più di 1000 litri di essenze vegetali pure, dense di sapore e aroma. Da queste venivano ricavati alcuni dei cosmetici e dei medicinali di più alta qualità dell'epoca.
